Tripod of
Services |
The NAD has commissioned AdventSource, a church owned organization which now administers PlusLine, to
spearhead an Internet information ministry for the NAD. AdventSource provides materials for church and ministry leaders,
PlusLine provides directory and online information for church ministry. The mission element was the local church website and a
communication ministry to the general public. This communication ministry via local church websites brought about the need for
AdventistChurchConnect (ACC). I like to think of this arrangement as a tripod of services (AdventSource, PlusLine, ACC) making
up a whole for supporting church ministry. |
Church
Website
Initiative |
The NAD through AdventSource has partnered with SimpleUpdates to provide the technical foundation for the
Church Website Initiative. Simple Updates has developed an upgrade path that can meet the needs of the church that has no one
able to work on a website, using classic SimpleUpdates Content Management System (CMS), and beyond. |
| The New Role for Webmasters |
Simple
Updates
Vision |
A webmaster need no longer be a techie who collects information from church ministry leaders and then works
through archaic interfaces and code to put it online. The job of content input can go directly to ministry leaders of the
local church. The true job of the webmaster is to view the website as a whole, and strategize the online outreach efforts, and
to assure that all departments are providing their content and keeping it up-to-date. It is an elevation of the webmaster from
the grunt work person, to the visionary planner of a web outreach ministry on its own. |

The Basic level will be kept fresh and up-to-date with RSS feeds, provided by eAdventist. Contact information
is also included from the NAD Church Locator database. |

At no additional cost, Basic+ adds a calendar and pastor's About Us text message editor. These sites can

church. |

Training and support are provided via email and a toll free phone number for Basic+ and the editions that
follow. |
