 Webmaster: Jacquie Bokow
I have been creating web pages since 1986, which I began as part of my then-position as Director of Publications for a
private corporation in Washington, D.C.
When I first developed Capital Memorial Church's website in 1986, I thought about what I would like to see on any church's
website I visited. Besides the obvious (location, directions, times of services, events), I wanted to see outlines of beliefs
and perhaps other materials that might enhance my own spiritual growth. These were the items I added to our own site.
CMC was fortunate at the time to have numerous materials on which to draw, including those of its prolific pastor then,
Jack Sequeira. Pastor Sequeira's writings formed the bulk of our online study materials. These can still be accessed at Pastor
Sequeira's new website, http://www.jacksequeira.org which I also designed. The excellent Bible study course that he wrote
remains on the CMC web site.
I also included ideas to enhance one's prayer life, taken from a booklet created by our prayer group and culled from
various authors (each credited, of course). The original website also include numerous photos of events and members. These I
removed when I redesigned the entire website in June in order to streamline the experience for visitors and make the site's
upkeep less burdensome for me.
CMC is proud and delighted to have won this award and we thank the NAD eChurch team very much. |
