On behalf of the Community Praise Center web team, thank you for this honor. We truly appreciate this recognition of our
website and our development team.
Early in 2006, our Technology Department launched a project designed to produce the site you see. God brought the web team
through many months of planning and our new website went live this past October 2006. This site is only possible because of
the team's efforts and collaboration with various departments within the church. Our core team is comprised of three web
developers and a lead photographer. Dave Cavins of Razor
Edge Studios and David Barrow of Onyx Effects are web developers by profession and Ludi Leito is
a gifted photographer. While I have this opportunity, I wish to publicly thank each of them for volunteering their talents and
joining the team!
In the early stages of our website project, we decided to work with SiteOrganic, a company offering content
management services and web tools to churches. Their tools match the website's underlying approach of offering an online
experience that is personable, interactive, and inviting. Each church has a unique personality and by capturing as many
individual member's voices as possible, we intend to allow that 'personality' to be effectively conveyed.
The initial response to the site has been rewarding. During November of this year, the site did have thousands of page
views and unique visitors. However, I was personally encouraged by the 15+ prayer requests, the over 100 website members that
joined our site-some from outside of the United States - and a few people who have requested a transfer of membership.
As we look toward the future, our team is excited. Launching the site is just phase one in a five phase project. In the
future you will see an emphasis on website member interaction, acts of service, networking, and evangelism. Much like a
physical church, this 'online church' would be a waste of resources if it did not inspire people to take their stand for
Christ. In order to accomplish this goal, we have much more work to do. Christ deserves our best talents, creative ideas, and
passion for service. As we continue to use our gifts in service to Him and with God's help, I know that our best days are yet
to come.
Keep up the good work fellow web developers! I invite you to share your ideas, to brainstorm, and
to stay in touch via our web ministry blog. Only eternity will tell how many people we helped touch around the world. |
