Meet The Webmasters Host
David Buxton

Oklahoma City Central Seventh-day Adventist Church website

Kris Bryant is the webmaster, communications leader, and young adult leader at the Oklahoma City Central Church.  He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Designing websites has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid.  It's ironic that I used to spend all my energy on my "personal website" and now my time is devoted to a site that is others-focused and inspired by Jesus.  I guess a lot changes when you become a believer.

I don't know much about Javascript, CSS, or XML, just plain HTML and a WYSIWYG editor.  I am grateful to the Adventist Webservants team for providing great resources that have been extremely helpful in the creation of Oklahoma City Central's website (the most helpful being Great Church Websites).  I am also indebted to the many church photographers and ministry leaders of my church who provide essential content and information for the site.

Having once been on the side of the secular and un-churched, I know how scary churches and church people can appear.  I have tried to make Oklahoma City Central's website represent the best of what Christianity and Seventh-day Adventists have to offer.  The world needs to see that the Church is made of real people on real journeys.  It is difficult to strike the right balance between being visitor-friendly and meeting the needs of church members,  so I am constantly evaluating the latest tips and trends from other webmasters.  I am proud to be part of a denomination with a rich tradition of using the latest technology to communicate the gospel.  May we all use our creative gifts to tell the old, old story in new, invigorating ways.
