Status

Give preference to those who cannot repay you. It's in the Bible, Luke 14:13-14, TLB. "Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the godly, God will reward you for inviting those who can't repay you."

There should be no status seeking within the body of Christ. It's in the Bible, Galatians 2:6, TLB. "And the great leaders of the church who were there had nothing to add to what I was preaching. (By the way, their being great leaders made no difference to me, for all are the same to God.)"

Advantage based on status is unacceptable among faithful believers. It's in the Bible, James 2:8-9, TLB. "Yes indeed, it is good when you truly obey our Lord's command, ‘You must love and help your neighbors just as much as you love and take care of yourself.' But you are breaking the law of our Lord's when you favor the rich and fawn over them; it is sin."

In God's eyes, everyone is the same. It's in the Bible, Matthew 20:25-28, NIV. "Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."
